Here's the basement shack of Bob Kopski, K3NHI.    (03 Jan 2009, update 16Jan2010)

This modest looking collection is Bob's 20 Meter SSB transceiver.   The rig sits on a shelf above the dual DVMs, speaker, and NorCal FCC-1 frequency display.   The large knob with the single wing is a T/R switch.   The small box that is bolted to the larger chassis contains the local oscillator for the transceiver.   Note the homebrew microphone in front of the speaker.

Don't be fooled by the modest looking transceiver into thinking that Bob's efforts are casual.  This larger view  shows the overall lab-shack that is presently found at Bob's place.   Careful examination reveals a theme of things occurring in pairs.   There are two homebrew regulated power supplies, two DVMs, two oscilloscopes (one is a Tek 2465B and the other is an imported digital job), two homebrew power meters, two surplus sweep generators, and two homebrew spectrum analyzers.  There are even two Altoid tins.   Hmmm, what are they destined to become?

A 180 degree rotation from the electronics bench shows Bob's other hobby, that of aeromodeling, most related to RC efforts.   This is a long term effort that was the original motivation for Bob's pursuit of an amateur radio license.

This shot was taken in January of 2010 when w7zoi (next to bench) visited Bob and the
k3nhi shack.  Bob's homebrew single sideband transceiver, as well as many other projects are open on the bench.
